Call of Duty Ghosts PC Needs More

If you think you can buy a copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts, pop it in your 5 year old 32-bit Windows machine and then start fragging the enemy, think again. The specs for the latest iteration in the Call of Duty first person shooter series are much more demanding than the previous versions. Its predecessor, Black Ops 2, was able to run on Windows Vista 32-bit version with as little as 2 GB RAM and with a Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB video card. Ghosts requires Windows 7 64-Bit with at least 6 GB RAM. Though the new video card specs are not as big of a step-up as the OS and RAM specs, you will need at least a Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 card.
Infinity Ward, the publisher of the game, updated their game engine to allow it to run on the PS4 and Xbox One. This engine update is most likely responsible for the higher system requirements on the PC. With the engine upgrade, players can expect real-time HDR lighting, fluid dynamics and other visual enhancements.
Call of Duty Ghosts launched on November 5th, 2013 on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will be released on the date of the console releases, currently November 15th, 2013 for the PS4 and November 22nd,2013 for the Xbox One. Call of Duty Ghosts takes place in an alternative timeline where the USA has fallen. The Ghosts are remaining members of the US Special Forces and they are intent on taking back their country.
