Final Fantasy XI was known for being a never-ending MMORPG set in the Final Fantasy universe. It received great reviews from journalists and customers alike, and now, with the help of Nexon Korea, Square Enix is bringing it to the mobile platform in 2016.
Yosuke Matsuda, the President of Square Enix said, “Developing a high-quality mobile adaptation of Final Fantasy XI with Nexon, with an extensive track record of successfully collaborating with global partners, is a great opportunity for Square Enix.”
The mobile adaptation will be known as Final Fantasy XI Mobile, and it will include both the single-player and multi-player versions of the game. Nexon plans to add a few improvements to the game such as a better combat system and single-player functionality.
It is not yet clear whether Final Fantasy XI Mobile will have the $13 dollars a month fee like the original or contain microtransactions. Sadly, with modern trends, the idea of “in-app purchases” is not so far-fetched.
Final Fantasy XI Mobile will be released in Japan, Korea, North America, Europe, parts of Asia.
