Valve announced today that it will be releasing a new video game review system for Steam. Steam Reviews, which is now in open beta, will allow any user of Steam to review any game that the user has played, including free games, weekend passes and family sharing. Though Steam has had the game recommendation system in place for over three years, the Steam Reviews systems promises to expand on that.
Users will be able to leave a review of a game, which will also include the number of hours the user has played the game, and then be graded on the review by other members of the Steam community. There will be a flagging system in place to prevent abuse or offensive content.
Negative reviews are allowed, but game developers are able to register and comment on the reviews. Developers will not be able to censor the reviews.
So I know everyone is wondering, with all of these reviews coming in from Steam, is GameBullies.com now irrelevant? NO! Now everyone will be able to attempt to write their own reviews and see how difficult it really is. And besides, our reviewers outclass any simpleton Steam reviewer. Bring it on!
