What happens when crash simulation meets slow motion? A severely epic game, that’s what! Turbo Dismount is a unique and addicting simulator with a cheap price tag that should definitely be in your collection.
The point of the game is just to have fun. You start the engines and watch as your little crash dummy flies into traffic. You can even select which pose to put your character in. Turbo Dismount also allows you to put images on the character’s face. It’s fun to watch a Nicolas Cage dummy fly headfirst into a wall.
When I first played Turbo Dismount, I didn’t think it was going to be a great experience, but I was wrong. There is quite a bit of good content to this game. Currently, there are 26 default levels and 19 vehicles, and the developers will keep adding new ones. The Steam version has Workshop support which adds tons of new maps.
Some problems occur when you try to change the direction your vehicle goes. They only give you a few set paths that you have to follow. Also, you aren’t allowed to accurately set the vehicle’s speed, but are forced to make a well-timed click instead.
The physics in the game, however; are great. I love watching the character’s limbs being ripped off or having a delivery van shatter into tiny pieces. This is the strong point of the game, and it’s the reason Turbo Dismount even exists. You can even watch all this carnage in slow motion which really brings out your inner 9 year old. This part of the game is done perfectly.
Other than that, there isn’t much to it. It’s a simple game, but it can supply you with hours of fun. For that I’ll give it an 8/10. It needs some work, but the content delivered is well worth the $9.99 price tag.
